This course discusses variables in Java. You will learn about the eight primitives, also known as data types, and study the difference between local, instance, and class variables. In addition to learning the default values of each variable type, this unit discusses implicit and explicit casting and the operator types used by Java. Throughout this unit, you will note that Java is much like C's use of procedural elements.
